Autumn variety at Flatanger, Forollhogna and Dovrefjell

[14th October, 2014] The first weekend of October I was at Flatanger on the western coast of Norway photographing white tailed eagles from boat. Most of the images turned out quite classic, but one late night we did have the eagles in front of the moon and that was a great experience! Flatanger also offers good opportunities for photographing other wildlife species like the common but still very beautiful great tit, willow tit (granmeis), red squirrel, and much more. In wintertime one can also photograph goshawk and golden eagle. Thanks to Ole Martin Dahle & Wenche at Norway Nature for great hospitality and company, and to fellow photographers Knut-Sverre Horn, Tom Dyring, and Markus Varesvuo & Minna for a great weekend!

In September I visited Forollhogna, a mountain area between Støren, Tynset and Røros. Forollhogna is famous for their wild reindeer herds. These animals are very shy and hard to approach. With only the weekend availible the chances were limited, but nevertheless I did have some good opportunities. Thanks to Tom Dyring, Ole Martin Nilsen, Pascal Pradier and Danny Dale Cothren for nice company and team work!

In September I also visited Dovrefjell for photographing arctic fox. We did not prioritize the musk ox this time, but anyway we did find a few on the way back home. Thanks for good company to Jørn Hagen and Even Hønsen Agerup.
