This week I received an invitation to the price giving ceremony of Oasis International Photo Contest 2013 in Italy, and at the same time happily got aware that my white out Arctic Fox image has obtained a Highly Commended / Noted Work in the contest.
I am delighted to let you know that my photograph titled “Maasai boy” has been Highly Commended in International Color Awards 2014! This year the contest received 7,400 entries from totally 79 different countries worldwide, were my image won a Honorable Mention in the Silhouette category.
One week ago an old dream of mine came true: I saw my first wild Norwegian Lynx! And even better than that, I got to photograph it in nice light as well! Normally these animals are extremely shy and people rarely see them.
I am delighted to tell my white out photograph of an Arctic Fox won 1st Runner Up (2nd prize) at I Am Photographer / Baltic Photo Contest 2014. This was my 3rd prize for different images taken of this same Arctic Fox individual!
I use to say «If you can visit foreign continents only one time in your whole life, go to Africa twice!» In February 2014 I was back again, and this was my 13th trip to Africa. As you can understand I am seriously infected by the African wild bush and savannah virus, and it seems to be no cure. But honestly that suits me just fine…
It is a pleasure to announce I am honored with no less than four Highly Commended Awards in the international nature photography contest Memorial Maria Luisa, MML 2013. Photographers from 43 countries, in all 12,000 images, entered this year’s competition.

The Polar Bear image adorns the February page of the calendar, and it is a great honor to be chosen as one of Nikon’s twelve disciples in 2014…

Selected from 16,500 images, it is a pleasure to let you know that my low angle backlight image of a hippo bull has been Highly Commended in the Mammals category in GDT European Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2013.
