I am happy to let you know that my image below taken in the forests of Kuhmo at the Finnish-Russian border, is honored with a Highly Commended Award in BioPhotoContest 2014.
The image shows a wild and peaceful female wolf photographed in the early morning of September. This is the kind of simple composited image I like to create, and taken through the dense forest it emphasize the spectator setting; we are lucky to be given a small glimpse into the wolf´s secret life. BioPhotoContest is hosted by BioArtVisual Association based in Italy. In their 1st year; 2014, the contest received 2,000 images from photographers mainly from Europe. The overall contest theme was “The Temperate Forests”.
Thanks to my good friend Lassi Rautiainen for giving the possibility to experience free roaming wolfs and other great wildlife in Finland.
